Suggestions for AM3 build

Based on sig,what board and ram combo would go well with the 955 x4?

I just bought GA-MA790GPT-UD3H with 955 BE, runs great the HD3300 onboard is not too bad, waiting for the 5850 to become available.

Ram is this, works great. bought 4Gig and set 1600 Mhz in bios runs just fine,

What is wrong with the MSI board?

There is nothing wrong with the MSI board.In fact I wish it would take ddr3 also.I just feel is time to move on,to a higher level and this board has given all is got.

Has anyone heard any rumors,of a AM3+ socket setup?

Cyber, I'm using the MSI 790FX-GD70 with 8 gigs of Gskill DDR3 in rig 1 below. GREAT combo.

Well I would venture to say yes,on paper it looks good as far as bandwidth.

I mean if pci graphics were still good enough,why go to agp,pci-e etc.

Not really up to date on my numbers, if I remember correct it gives only about 5% performance increase, not worth it imo.

Yes quite an impressive board,I read up on it on MSI page'

Only glitch I find is,that it uses pc-2133 std,and I looked at the prices and whoa! Is almost $300 for the memory.

The X2 550BE

i dunno if they still do, but I was able to unlock all 4 cores and oc to 3.5. Not bad for a $100 chip.

The MSI 790FX-GD70 uses a variety of ddr3 speeds. I have Gskill 1600 that needs to be set in the BIOS to run at that speed. It runs GREAT at 1333.
