hard drive question

How do i get my storage drive to work on Win7 HP64bit. BTW, if this is not the right forum would a mod please movre it. Forgot to check jumpers on hard drive. Well that didn`t work, SATA drives don`t have jumpers. Went to the Hitachi website what a waste of time, all it has is setting it up for OS insatallation. Google didn`t do nothing for me, i have also been all throught my MB manuel and all it said was to set it on IDE, which it was, some help. will anyone give me a hint of what to do. thanks in advance.Well i must have don`t something right accidently, its now working.

Does the computer's BIOS recognizes the Drive?

If it does not Win 7 ot any other OS would not know that is is drive.

Yes, it is but bio`s don`t give me a choice to set one as slave, they are both sata`a and they are both seen in windows as primary masters.s

SATA Drive are independent each drive sits on his own connector and there is No slaves.

The BIOS has a setting that let you decide which one is the Boot drive.

Assuming that your computer boots correctly from the drive with the Windows boot.

Boot the computer anal look into the Computer Management/Disk Management. The new Drive probably would be there and needs to be partitioned and formatted.
